REFINISHING - Floors, Staircases, Porches and Decks

Dustless Sanding - A traditional floor sanding process that is 99% Dust Free using HEPA filtration and dust containment systems that are healthier and cleaner than the old cloth bag method, still used by many other companies today. Dustless Sanding is also the only sanding process that complies with new EPA regulations. An environmental choice for indoor air quality. Ideal for customers with allergies, asthma and who prefer a clean process. Eliminates the need for weeks of toxic dust cleanup by homeowner

Sandless Refinishing - A process of thoroughly cleaning the floor and then applying a water based bonding agent. Floor is finished with one to two coats of water based polyurethane. Ideal for pre-finished floors which are in need of sprucing up. Not appropriate for floors with deep scratches or heavily worn areas.

Buff & Coat - Process involves lightly abrading previously polyurethaned floor with a Dustless Buffer and applying a new coat of polyurethane. This process will remove surface scratches and scuff marks. Will not remove deep scratches or gouges or change color of the floor. Should be used as part of a regular maintenance plan for your hardwood floors to help prevent the need for sanding and finishing.

Hand Scraped **NEW** - A popular trend in hardwood flooring. Using specialty tools and hand scrapers, we use this technique to give a floor a distressed, antiqued look. The process begins with a basic sanding with our Dustless System to remove all existing finishes. Then we use non-powered hand tools, to handcraft this custom look. This technique can also be used to give your standard width floor a wide-plank appearance without the need for new installation.

ADD SOME COLOR OR CHANGE YOUR COLOR

Stains - We carry many stains. They can be mixed and blended to achieve any look. We are very experienced in matching to existing color. Ask us about our own custom colors.

Aniline Dyes - Used to achieve a more intense color, such as black, red, or even deeper brown tones. A coat of stain is applied on top.

FINISH OPTIONS

Water Based Polyurethane - Our most popular finish. Low odor, low VOC, fast drying and curing time, easy maintenance, durable, an environmentally friendly choice. Also available as a GreenGuard Certified product for indoor air quality and in a Commercial Grade for high traffic areas.

Oil Based Polyurethane - Ages to deep, rich amber tones. It is used on floors that will meet up to other floors with existing oil based polyurethane and upon customer request. Because of its high VOC content, this finish is being phased out and as a company that strives to be environmentally friendly, we recommend water based polyurethane over oil based polyurethane whenever appropriate.

Tung Oil - Made out of natural and renewable resources, tung oil is pressed from the nuts of the tung tree and has been used to water proof wood since the 14th century. It is a popular choice for customers with reclaimed and wide plank flooring for its natural hand-rubbed appearance. Also known for its excellent water resistance. Touch-ups can easily be done by homeowner.

Wax - A good aesthetic choice for the customer looking for "old world charm" or a product that can be buffed to a high sheen and allows for easy, customer maintenance. It is also appropriate for a floor that has been previously waxed and just needs freshening up. Quick drying.

WOCA **NEW** - A European oil finish that has ZERO VOCs, that penetrates and hardens to become part of the wood. Gives wood a very natural look, as opposed to a finish which lies on top. Easily maintained and easy touch-ups. Containing primarily cold pressed vegetable oils, a great environmental choice. Perfect for the customer who wants a look like no other.

PREP-WORK

We offer removal service for existing carpet, vinyl, ceramic and most other flooring materials.

REPAIRS

We pride ourselves on organic looking repairs, so that a repair doesn't look like a repair - but part of the original floor. If your repair requires blending a custom stain to match the aging of your floor, this is our specialty. We also keep many replacement boards in stock, including pieces salvaged over the years, including antique pine and antique Oak that we use specifically for repairs to match the natural aging process of the wood.

ACCENTS

Custom borders of any design, medallions and inlays can be expertly added to make your standard floor really stand out.

TRIM WORK

We install baseboard, quarter round and Scotia molding to add a finishing touch. These pieces can be pre-primed for painting or can be stained to match your floors or other woodwork. We also install flush and surface mount wooden vent covers in any species to match your flooring.
